New CDM Version Update

The next version of CDM will make a big move from being a stand-alone application you run on your computer, to a modern web-based application you run out of your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari or Chrome).

One of the big changes you will immediately notice is the new Dashboard and the new Module Names.  Once you log into CDM, you will be presented with a CDM Dashboard with the ability to quickly add or search for info within CDM.  You will also see personalized reminders and have the ability to add important metrics to this dashboard.

The new modules are as follows:

  1. Contact Management
  2. Loan Servicing
  3. Work Plan Management
  4. Reports
  5. Admin

The Contact Management module will hold all data related to any person or company you deal with.  This will be contractors, clients, businesses, tenants and any related properties

The Loan Servicing module will contain all loan and grant related information including funding sources, payments and escrow.

The Work Plan Management module will be where your work plans, specs, bids and disbursements live.  We are doing a lot of work with this module to make the flow of data more efficient.  The software development company we are working with has built this type of module before so are leveraging their experience here to make this even better with the ability to take a tablet, or laptop into the field and be able to remotely capture and report on progress from that device.

The all new Reports module will now include a custom reporting engine where you can build your own reports!



We made the decision to move away from the multi-page approach you see in the current version of CDM (Client - P1, Client - P2, Client - P3, Client - P4, Client - P5 for example) to everything with a module being displayed on a single screen.

As you can see below, we will be utilizing an accordion style sectioning that will allow you to expand and collapse the different sections (Contact, Income Sources, Assets, Liabilities etc) so you can easily see the data you are interested in.  We have also added a contact card (in blue at the top right) that will always be displayed on the screen so you can easily see what record you are dealing with.  You will also be able to see any of their related properties, loans, work plans etc as links in this contact card to make it really easy to get to that data.



We are currently on track to complete this new version by Fall 2015.  We will be holding a CDM Conference again this year in October in Boulder, CO where will be revealing the completed work as well as training on the new version.  This would be a great conference to attend!  We are working on finalizing the location of this conference, so please let us know if you can attend, as this will help us determine the size of the room we need!


You will notice a lot of cool new enhancements like automatic address completion and validation (much like when you search for an address in Google Maps) in the new version of CDM. We have even more exciting things lined up for future versions once we get this version live!

Some of the new ideas we are working on for CDM include:

  • IDIS integration - there is the ability for us to move data in and out of IDIS via an Electronic Data Interface (EDI).  This will make your lives a lot easier as you will have less double entry of data between CDM and IDIS.
  • Client-facing web front end - this will enable you to receive and manage client applications via a secure web interface that your clients can access.  They will be able to upload documents and complete applications online!
  • Rental Module - we have found a number of agencies now manage rental properties.  This module will allow you to manage that rental income.
  • Inspection Module - this will take the changes we are making above and enhance them by offering you the ability to perform offline remote inspections using your tablet.
